Join the Ian Potter Museum of Art for a multidisciplinary event where art, earth sciences, geology, politics and policy collide.

In response to artist Susan Norrie’s latest video work aftermath (2016) in which she documents the LUSI mud volcano’s decade long eruption in Indonesia, this forum will investigate environmental disasters and disaster prevention, management and mitigation.

Norrie will be joined by Dr Lisa Palmer, Geography, The University of Melbourne who will discuss the challenges of combining customary and modern water governance in post-disaster areas and Associate Professor Mark Quigley, Earth Sciences, The University of Melbourne who will discuss how humans are altering seismologic processes.

This forum will be convened by Associate Professor Peter Christoff, Geography, The University of Melbourne who researches climate politics and policy.
