News | Richard Beresford stepping down from Art Gallery of New South Wales

Richard Beresford is stepping down from his role as senior curator of International art at the Art Gallery of New South Wales. A scholar of international standing, and the author of a number of books and catalogues, including the remarkable A Dance to the Music of Time, London: Wallace Collection, 1995, Richard brought a standard of research excellence to all of his undertakings, seen most recently in the brilliant hang of the exhibition The Greats: Masterpieces from the National Galleries of Scotland. He has worked tirelessly to communicate and connect with the public on all aspects of the collection and in this role has also worked closely with the members of the society of the Art Gallery of New South Wales, particularly Judith White and Jackie di Diana to deliver a remarkable set of lecture series over many years to large and loyal audiences. Richard’s expertise in such a wide range of fields, his scrupulous and exemplary scholarship, and his rare gifts as a communicator with the broader public means he will be sorely missed.
