An exhibition exploring sound art, curated by celebrated US artist Stephen Vitiello, will make its Australian debut at Monash University next month.
Presented by the Monash Art Design & Architecture (MADA) Gallery in association with Independent Curators International (ICI), New York, With Hidden Noise explores sound art and brings together evocative sounds - some recognisable from traditional instruments and field recordings, and others masked through the electronic process. Renee Cosgrave | Filling The Wall
An eye-catching public mural that will transform a 12-metre wall will be installed in the Monash Art Design & Architecture (MADA) Gallery Window Space this month.
Melbourne-based artist and Monash alumna, Renee Cosgrave, will use only marker pens and paint to follow the edges of the wall with bands of colour, creating rectangular shapes within rectangles, spanning up to 3.5 metres high.
The installation, Filling the Wall, will extend the artist’s focus on the use of form, colour, shape, space and repetition. The rectangles created by the artist are responsive to the dramatic slant of the display window and the prominent yellow colour from the tiles that frame it. More information here.
