About the exhibition
Angela Cavalieri’s work explores the art of writing and storytelling. In this exhibition Cavalieri draws on her Italian heritage, using text from authors such as Boccaccio, Dante, Calvino and Pirandello. Their words are recreated in Cavalieri’s work as images, which evokes the relationship between words as graphic elements and the meanings which we symbolically attach to them. This exhibition brings together key works in Cavalieri’s ongoing exploration of the relationship between language, cultural memory and subjectivity.
Exhibition organised in conjunction with Maroondah Art Gallery.
