Salary: Level D $145,685 – $160,500 p.a. or Level E $187,654 p.a., plus 17% superannuation. Level of appointment is subject to the appointee’s qualifications and experience.

VCA Art has a significant national reputation and has long established a dynamic presence as forward-looking with a clear mission to prepare artists with a lifelong commitment as professional practitioners, to be positive contributors to the profession and the broader community. We are seeking an experienced practitioner and academic to lead artistic and pedagogical vision.

You will have a doctoral qualification combined with demonstrated excellence in academic leadership and management. An international as well as national standing as a practitioner with high level academic experience is essential, with the demonstrated ability to lead the strategic development of the Art program.

This is a full-time, continuing appointment where the appointee will be offered the position of Head of Art, for a period of three years in the first instance and will work with the Director of the VCA to build on a strong and dynamic Art program across the undergraduate and graduate studies areas. The position is based at the Southbank Campus, in the heart of Melbourne’s Art Precinct.
