ANTHONY CAREW is a Melbourne-based writer, critic, broadcaster, DJ, and music consultant. Since 2000, he has hosted the weekly radio show The International Pop Underground on RRR FM. He’s DJ’d events from album launches to museum exhibitions, house parties to weddings. And, in recent years, covertly curated countless playlists for a top-secret online streaming service. As well as writing the scathing movie-review column Film Carew, he is a regular contributor to The Music, The Age, The Big Issue, Metro, and Screen Education, typing about music and cinema without fear or favour. He has hosted Q&As at MIFF, spoken at the Emerging Writers Festival, and presented a paper at Monash University’s World Cinema Now conference. He’s also written four catalogue essays for the artist Darren Sylvester.
