To all our regular visitors and subscribers a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. MAN will be having a short break over Christmas, but will be back in the New Year.

Our subscriber base has grown considerably over the past year – we now have 500 email subscribers (you can subscribe by popping your email in ‘Subscribe’ box on the right hand side of our website), over 200 Facebook supporters and over 1000 twitter followers. The site has been receiving an average of 1200 – 1500 hits every week and we have usually published between 6-12 posts every week.

Our thanks to those who have written Reviews, WAYLAs and Opinion pieces and to those who have sent us items for inclusion on the site.

The National Gallery of Victoria has the excellent German art exhibition from AGNSW ‘The Mad Square‘ as well as the continuing Tjukurrtjanu Origins of Western Desert Art and Ranjani Shettar’s sculptures in their new contemporary space.

Heide Museum of Modern Art has an exhibition celebrating its 30th anniversary –  Forever Young: 30 Years of the Heide Collection.

ACCA in Melbourne has recently opened Pipilotti Rist: I Packed the Postcard in My Suitcase.

The Renaissance show at the National Gallery in Canberra has opened featuring 15th and 16th Century Italian Paintings  from the Accademia Carrara, Bergamo

Art Gallery of New South Wales in Sydney is showing Picasso: masterpieces from the Musée National Picasso, Paris.

MCA in Sydney has Rafael Lozano-Hemmer Recorders – The Exhibition.

Queensland Art Gallery and Gallery of Modern Art in Brisbane have a show of works on paper by Matisse and the NGV’s Eugene Von Guerard show (see our review of the Melbourne show here).

There is still time to catch Princely Treasures: European Masterpieces 1600 – 1800 from the Victoria and Albert Museum, which closes on the 9th January.

The Art Gallery of South Australia in Adelaide is showing works of contemporary Indonesian artist Eko Nugroho.
