MUMA Talks: Janet Burchill, Dr Kyla McFarlane and Liv Barrett

Janet Burchill and Jennifer McCamley, Story of a Woman Who..., 1983

On Saturday 12 November at 12.30pm, join artist Janet Burchill with Dr Kyla McFarlane, curator of A Different Temporality and Liv Barrett, curator of Performative Philosophy in the gallery for an informal discussion about the current exhibitions, feminism, film and writing.

Janet Burchill
Janet Burchill and Jennifer McCamley have worked collaboratively and individually as artists since the mid 1980s. Their practice embraces a wide variety of media including sculpture, photography, film, video, neon and works on paper in works that critically engage with the history and forms of modernist art and their relationship to everyday life, reconsidered through feminist, psychoanalytic, filmic and spatial discourses.

Liv Barrett.
Liv Barrett is an Independent Curator and Writer who has curated projects in number of public and artist-run galleries.  She was Curatorial Assistant on recent projects including ACCA’s Venice Pop Up Program and curated Foodcourt du Jour, du Jour at Artspace, Sydney (2011) and Hotel Theory. Y3K Gallery, Melbourne (2010)
