Conference Theme: Who are the audiences of architectural history? This international conference includes over 70 papers addressing the relationship between architectural history and its audience, inviting reflection upon works of architecture, ideas about architecture and the roles that architects, historians and critics play in projecting audiences for our built past.

Architecture Tours 7 July, 2011
Brisbane CBD Walking Tour (2pm-4.30pm) A guided walk around Brisbane’s Central Business District to observe and visit some of the city’s heritage listed buildings. A special guide map will be available.
Urban Indigenous Brisbane (2pm-4.30pm) This tour takes a walk to sites of urban indigenous significance in the inner city. A series of maps will be made available to explain traditional uses of space and present day sites of significance.
UQ Centenary Architecture Tour (2pm-4.30pm) In 2010 the University of Queensland celebrated the centenary of its proclamation. A guide map and architectural tour were created by the School of Architecture to highlight the history of architecture on the St Lucia campus. This tour will involve travel to UQ by public ferry and a walk to UQ’s Great Court, including buildings by RAIA Gold Medallists Robin Gibson and James Birrell.
Driving Tour of 20th Century Gold Coast Architecture (12.30pm-4.30pm) The tour will include stops at some mid-twentieth century high-rises as well assome more recent work on the Gold Coast. A preliminary expression of interest is required in order to secure transport for the driven tour and there will be a small fee to participate.
